What People's Say About Place

I chose this place for my afternoon meal and was satisfied. Our conservative ordering gave us a limited but OK impression. Their employees deliver memorable service! They make tasty food from fresh ingredients without overcharging. I'm looking forward to returning here!

wow.. i am speechless… the solo halal guy is truly #1.

a mainstay of the food cart scene downtown is the SoHo Halal Guy—this cart serves up a variety of sandwiches, meat + rice platter, and other eats. brightly lit tiny cart is located on Broadway and Houston St—serving food to area workers, residents, and tourists from day to late night. the food is made with care, but doesn’t take tons of time if you’re in a rush. only ordered meat + rice platters here over the years and have always been satisfied with the ample servings. solid spot for Middle Eastern styled meat over rice to-go. ordered the chicken over rice is well-seasoned. the rice is flavorful. typically i get both the white sauce & hot sauce on top. the chicken over rice is $7 + tip staff is quick and efficient. sometimes service is gruff. overall, if you are looking for lunch or dinner to go and that can be made quickly then this food cart will meet your expectations.

Some of the BEST halal food I've ever had in the city. I'm a native New Yorker so I've tried a lot of halal stands. This food is cooked with just the right spices and flavors

The total experience at this place makes me happy every time. Their workers were friendly and responded rapidly. Their food quality went beyond my presumptions. I would return - the setting was relaxed and service stood out. This restaurant lives up to promises!

There is NO reason this random halal cart should be so good. Chicken is fresh and perfectly cooked, the guy who is there when I go is super nice and gets the spice just right, and it's pretty cheap at just $8 a plate. The portions are good, if I eat at 6 I'm usually full the rest of the night. I've had quite a few chicken over rices since I moved here, THIS one is the BEST, by far the best meal under $10 I've had this year. Also, it's ready really fast. Usually you can't get cheap, good, and fast—this is a rare exception

$7 platter is crazy given other carts in the area are charging $10. Also, the gentleman behind the grill is so friendly, patient, and sweet. The platter tasted amazing. Although though the rice was slightly overcooked, the lamb was very tender and well cooked.

We were lost for 45 minutes hopelessly and then we remembered our glimmering beacon of hope, the halal guy. We followed our noses to the intoxicating aromas of the 14 spices used to marinate each heavenly dish. We proceeded to obtain the scrumptious masterpiece called ‘chicken over rice’ and we immediately knew that everything would be alright. Thanks halal guy. 11/10 value, taste, and vibez
